Shipping Policy - the basics

Pudo is The Courier Guy's smart locker system in South Africa designed for affordable, 24/7 self-service shipping. It allows users to send parcels to other lockers, kiosks, or directly to a home address.

Key Shipping Policies & Requirements

• Weight & Size Limits: Maximum parcel weight is 20kg. The parcel must fit within the physical dimensions of the locker, roughly up to 37cm x 69cm x 55cm.

• Delivery Times: Typically 1-4 working days, although some reports suggest 2-5 days depending on location.

• Collection Window: Recipients have 36 hours (sometimes reported as 24 or 48 hours depending on the specific policy link, but 36 hours is standard) to collect their package from a locker after receiving the PIN code.

• Uncollected Parcels: If not collected within the timeframe, the parcel is removed and taken to the nearest Pudo Kiosk or Depot.

• Prohibited Items: Pudo does not allow the shipping of hazardous materials, perishables, human remains, live animals, cash, or precious metals.

• Packaging: It is recommended to use proper boxes or bubble wrap for fragile items. You can use your own packaging, and The Courier Guy also offers packaging materials.

• Costs: Shipping costs are determined by the size of the locker, not the distance. Costs range from R50 to R200 per parcel.

How It Works

1. We will book your parcel in and drop it off for delivery after payment and seeing which locker you would like us to send your parcel to.

2. Collect: The recipient (you) will receive a PIN or QR code to enter at their designated locker to unlock it and pick up their package
